Codependency is the process of relying on external sources for our sense of who we are. We attach our emotions and behaviors to those of another. Often in codependency we assume the role of victim or rescuer. Healing codependency is a process of growing out of parent-child relationships and moving into adult-adult relationships. In healing codependency we discover ways to become more self nurturing and validating. Learning to become inner dependent and interdependent opens the door to valuing ourselves for who we are, and valuing others for who they are, not who we want or need them to be.
